Hanging your tree swing can be tuff. Knowing what rope to use or what knot to tie is a hard decision. In all the research we have done most people leave there swing up year round. Even if it snows a lot. We rocomend that you take your swing down in the snow to preserve the wood. Knowing that most folks leave their swing up year round we use a rope that is made out of polypropylene. This rope is similar to that which they use to water ski behind a boat on a lake. So if your swing is used in a place like Texas with a lot of humidity, or Ohio that gets a lot of snow, your rope will not mold or break down like a standard manilla rope would. Choosing a knot to tie is the next hard choice. We recomend tying a knot called a, "Two Half Hitch Knot". This knot is ideal because it binds on itself so it does not slip.
